FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

CAN I SCHEDULE A SCHOOL VISIT?

Yes we would be delighted to give you a tour of our school. Please complete an application form HERE to register your interest in sending your child to CMS. On receipt we will contact you to arrange a visit. If we have no availability in the class required we advise you that you have been added to a waiting list.

DO YOU FOLLOW CARDIFF TERM DATES?

Broadly yes. However, we do have more inset days than the LEA schools. Please see our school term date calendar at the bottom on this page.

DO YOU COVER THE NATIONAL CURRICULUM?

CMS is an independent school and therefore is not bound by the national curriculum. This allows us the freedom to offer something unique in the field of education. Our students typically do more grammar work, cover more mathematical concepts and are exposed to great geography lesson than required. In the early years they will cover less IT then in the national curriculum. We believe the Montessori approach excels at offering an integrated learning approach that the New Curriculum for Wales calls for. Please see the about us section for details of our approach.

It is important to highlight that we track the progress of our students to ensure they are making progress in line with their peers.

WHY CHOOSE MONTESSORI EDUCATION?

There are plenty of reasons why we believe Montessori Education is the best pedagogical approach. Coming and seeing the school in action and talking to our staff is likely to be the best way to gain insight into the method.  The links below may also prove helpful:
